HERMÈS Terre d'Hermes: EDT vs Parfum

If you're considering the iconic HERMÈS Terre d'Hermes, you might be wondering what the difference is between the EDT and Parfum formulations.

While both options would make an excellent choice of fragrance, there are slight differences in each formulation that may make one more appealing to you than the other.

In this blog post, we'll take a closer look at each option so that you can make the best decision for your next scent!

  1. What do they smell like?
  2. How long do they last?
  3. Which is the most popular?
  4. Which one is right for you?

What do they smell like?

Terre d'Hermes is a unisex fragrance that was created for HERMÈS by Jean-Claude Ellena.

Terre d'Hermes is one of the all-time best selling scents for the French fashion house. Our experts have tested both the EDT and Parfum formulations to describe the fragrance breakdown of each.

The Parfum is the most concentrated formulation and has the strongest HERMÈS signature accord of orange blossom, neroli, and jasmine. It also has a beautiful ambergris note that gives it a warm, spicy, oceanic smell.

The EDT is lighter and brighter than the Parfum. It has less of the ambergris note and more of the citrusy notes.

Personally, we prefer the EDP because of the stronger scent, but all both formulas are amazing.

How long do they last?

HERMÈS Terre d'Hermes is a timeless fragrance that has remained popular since its release over ten years ago.

It is available in two formulations: Eau de Toilette and Parfum.

The Parfum is the strongest concentration and therefore lasts the longest on the skin, typically around 9 hours.

The Eau de Toilette formulation is the weakest concentration but also the most affordable; it typically lasts for 4-5 hours on the skin.

Both formulations are considered long-lasting fragrances, and will leave you smelling great all day long.

Which is the most popular?

The EDT was the original formulation of the fragrance, and the most popular formulation in the Terre d'Hermes line-up.This was followed by the Parfum formulation which was released later.

When it comes to successful fragrance launches, it is usually the first formulation of the scent that remains the most popular.

Examples of other fragrances where the EDT is the most popular include Dior Sauvage EDT, and Versace Eros EDT.

The EDT is lighter and more refreshing, making it ideal for summer wear.

The Parfum is the most concentrated and longest-lasting of the three, making it ideal for special occasions.

No matter which formulation you choose, HERMÈS Terre d'Hermes is sure to keep you smelling great all day long.

Final thoughts

As anyone who's interested in fragrance knows, HERMÈS Terre d'Hermes is one of the most popular scents on the market.

Interestingly, it seems that both the EDT and Parfum formulation have their own devoted following.

Some people prefer the deeper, more intense scent of the Parfum, while others find the lighter Eau de Toilette to be more refreshing.

Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference. But if you're looking for a general consensus, it seems that the Eau de Toilette is currently the most popular formulation of HERMÈS Terre d'Hermes.
